The Challenges Addressed

“Greener Tomorrows” focuses on critical challenges posed by climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss in one of the most vulnerable townships in Yangon, Myanmar. The project addresses the lack of environmental education, unsustainable agricultural practices, and human-elephant conflict. The area’s significant deforestation and ecosystem degradation have exacerbated climate vulnerabilities, making community-based climate adaptation essential. This initiative aims to restore biodiversity, foster environmental awareness, and mitigate human-wildlife conflicts through targeted actions.

Our Approach: Nature-Based Solutions for Lasting Impact

The initiative integrates environmental education with practical reforestation and biodiversity conservation efforts. It combines a youth library for climate education with hands-on activities, such as tree planting and community workshops. The concept emphasizes collaboration with local stakeholders, such as Back To Nature Myanmar, and employs an eco-based solution to climate challenges. The approach includes awareness campaigns, hands-on training, and sustainable reforestation techniques to empower the community.
