Climate Change & Indigenous Communities
Myanmar’s climate index ranks among the worst globally. Ethnic minorities find themselves disproportionately vulnerable to its impacts. Climate change severely affects livelihoods and agriculture, the lifeblood of these communities, thereby widening existing social and economic inequalities in these diverse regions. The MCCA2 programme focuses on innovative, ecosystem-based adaptation solutions. Through this initiative, MCCA2 aims to empower the most vulnerable by facilitating climate adaptation and mitigation through nature-based solutions tailored to the local context.
