Key messages regarding earthquakes have been developed to tailor appropriate actions to the local context of Myanmar, considering its specific vulnerabilities. Currently available information on earthquake safety and actions tends to be generic and may not be suitable for all situations, such as the universal applicability of “duck, cover, and hold on.” This process aims to understand the vulnerabilities of building stock and past damage patterns. Based on these studies, guidance is provided on measures individuals can take to better prepare and minimize injuries and casualties.
