Myanmar Climate Action Week (MCAW) 2023 took place from March 20 to March 26, in collaboration with various climate actors in Myanmar including UN entities such as UNDP, UNOPS, UNICEF, FAO, and NGOs, CSOs, and various types of stakeholders. The MCAW event will be held annually for three years as part of the Myanmar Climate Change Alliance II (MCCA-II). MCAW has been serving as a platform for stakeholders to advocate for urgent climate action; exchange knowledge and ideas; promote best practices; and explore opportunities to mobilize resources jointly.

Some key events include:

• Launch of the Myanmar Climate Action Network (M-CAN)
• A focus session on “nature-based solutions to strengthen adaptation and climate resilience at the country and regional levels.”
• Panel discussion on “Youth’s Visions on Climate Action in Myanmar”
• Myanmar Climate Action Fair
• Exchange knowledge from “Regional Experiences on Climate Action.”
• Side events with partner organizations
• Children’s Drawing Event: Inspire future climate actors!
• Climate Change Awareness Online Quizzes
• Day Trekking to Taikkyi with Back to Nature to reflect on nature and the environment.
• Hazard mapping at the community level
